As de Deniers

from The Jean Noblet Tarot, c. 1650-1659

A single great coin, a rosette within patterned rings, foliage scrolls at the four corners. Deniers were money plain and simple; the suit only became pentacles when nineteenth century occultists redrew the coin as a talisman.
