The Sheet

from The Cary Sheet, c. 1500

The whole surviving fragment: twenty woodcut images on one uncut sheet, printed in Milan around 1500 and never cut into cards. Around the six legible center panels, the edges keep partial rows: a devil over flames at lower left, crossed banners from the pips at lower right, and cut tops of further trumps along the upper margin.
