IIII de Bâton

from The Conver Tarot de Marseille, blocks of 1760; this printing c. 1809-1833

Four batons cross in a woven lattice around a blue diamond panel set with red lozenges, flower sprays at top and bottom, IIII at the sides. The tidy interlace is a carryover from the Italian decks the Marseille makers copied.
