As d'Épées

from The Jean Dodal Tarot, c. 1701-1715

A hand in a cloud grips a sword whose blade runs up through a crown sprouting palm and laurel branches, with colored chips raining around it. The crowned ace of swords is the suit's promise of victory, and Waite kept the image almost unchanged.
