Clover

from The Dondorf Lenormand, c. 1880 to 1895

Klee. A sprig of red clover with two blossoms and a cluster of leaves, nothing else on the card. Inset: six of diamonds. Small luck, a brief stroke of good fortune, a chance that passes quickly. The plainer cards in this pack are drawn as botanical vignettes, which was the fashion in German chromolithography.
