Le Monde

from The Conver Tarot de Marseille, blocks of 1760; this printing c. 1809-1833

A dancer wrapped in a flying scarf stands inside an almond-shaped wreath, a wand in one hand, with an angel, an eagle, a lion and a fourth beast in the corners. The corner figures are usually read as the evangelists' emblems, though the ox of this block looks remarkably like a horse.
