As d'Épée

from The Conver Tarot de Marseille, blocks of 1760; this printing c. 1809-1833

A hand grips a great sword rising through an openwork crown, a palm branch and a laurel branch hanging from it, sparks falling on either side. Victory compressed into one image; Waite copied the crowned sword nearly unchanged into his own ace.
