Valet d'Épée

from The Conver Tarot de Marseille, blocks of 1760; this printing c. 1809-1833

A page in cap and short cape carries a drawn sword over one shoulder and what is usually read as its scabbard in his other hand, planted like a walking stick. He stands on rough stenciled ground, and the sword is nearly his own height.
