A woman in a long gown and veil standing with a coin or token in one hand and a coin-purse or tablet at her waist, on a plain ground. Arithmetic, spelled ARITMETRICHA on the plate, one of the set's many phonetic spellings. The pieces she holds are usually read as counters or coins, the tools of reckoning on a counting board.
