A winged angel in flight holding up a large plain disc, gilded in this impression, over an arc of the earth, drapery streaming behind. The Primum Mobile, the ninth sphere whose turning moves all the others. The disc is empty because it carries no stars; the angel's pose, half kneeling in the air, is one of the most freely drawn figures in the set.
